Isn't this going to be a frequent problem for UX flights that don't board any food anyway??
Actually, UX has special boxes of granola bars stocked for occasions like this. I was part of a 2+ hour ground delay this winter, and the crew gave everyone granola bars and drinks. When we exited the aircraft, they also offered us to take more of granola bars with us, as else they would be trashed.
