I'm not sure if anyone else has run into this issue, but it is frustrating as hell. I'm trying to see if I can't use award miles for one direction of a TATL and then purchase the other direction (and use an SWU, of course ) but when I compare the exact same flights on AA.com for one way vs. round trip the coach fare on the round trip shows up as $356, but the one way option for the same flight in coach is $3954 (Economy Super Saver, no less!!) 11X the round trip fare for the same flight is absurd!!

Is there some secret trick in finding reasonable one way fares to combine with an award ticket the other way, since they tout that option nowadays??
