They're all quite close together - except the DuPont hotel, and the Mayflower which is at the corner of Connecticut and L street. My wife has stayed at the Renaissance Du Pont and thought it was decent, but nothing to explode over.

Eating at hotels, expect at least $10.00 a person for breakfast and expect $25.00 for the ubitiquous breakfast buffet.

Being at Metro center, you have access to three different Metro lines. The Mayflower and the Renaissance Du Pont are only on the Red.

If you want a hotel with a story (lots of them), stay at the Mayflower but be prepared to pay a lot for breakfast. Otherwise, for convenience, stay at the two Metro Center hotels.
