I'd like to use my BA miles for a honeymoon from HNL to Europe.

BA doesn't come to Hawaii, so a AA/BA itinerary seems to a good option. But I'd like to avoid the high TATL on BA fees. Would routing through Canada work in this case?

I couldn't seem to find any nonstops from Toronto or Montreal across the pond.

So would a HNL - West Coast - Canada - Northeast - Europe (on AA), work to avoid the BA TATL fees? Doesn't seem that it would. All are layovers.

And using Iberia and AA would get me into the 2 partner airlines range, which would make the trip very expensive, miles-wise. So no go on that.

What are my options here?
