Personally, I think there isn't a huge difference in Y class throughout the airlines, though I must say CX and SQ are leagues better than UA. The difference is usually minimal and its the FA's that will make the difference. Travel on which airline will give you more miles and just tough it out for 12 hours until you have enough status to get op-uped into J
