Question Mileage Upgrade Awards in the new UDU paradigm

While I imagine the new UDU system will be great for GS & 1K travelers, I would doubt that I'm likely to see (m)any of them as a 2P. I have no problem using miles to confirm an upgrade in advance since this is really the only thing I've ever used miles for, and I have plenty of them to burn.

But how does this work now, vis a vis the UDUs? Hope the experts can provide a few answers:

1. If availability shows as NF4 NF4 for a two-segment one-way trip, I should still be able to confirm and upgrade at time of request, right? (in advance of the UDU windows)

2. If the same trip shows NF4 NF0, can I be confirmed on the first segment and "waitlisted" on the second segment? This is not the same as "pending" in advance of the UDU windows?

3. Once the UDU windows begin, where do "waitlisted" Mileage Upgrade Awards stand in the upgrade line? As they are paid with miles (and often copays), are they in front of the free UDUs for upgrade priority? Key question.

4. The Request an Upgrade function on .bomb doesn't seem to be working the way I would expect. (Wait, did I just say that? ) I went to request a Mileage Upgrade Award, but when I click on a particular segment and then go to select an "upgrade type," no options appear on the drop-down menu. All segments have the choice to "Cancel Upgrade" -- is that referring to the pending UDU? Do I need to Cancel first and then go back to request a mileage award upgrade?

5. Also, the Request an Upgrade function used to group one-way segments together, as in "click here to upgrade SFO-ORD-LGA all together." But now every segment has it's own menu. Are mileage upgrade awards reduced to one segment now like the UDUs, instead of one way?

Thanks in advance for your help. ^
