Matches on the outside courts commence at 11.00 though by the start of the second week, many of these will be doubles matches.
I love Wimbledon fortnight. I haven't yet managed to successfully get my hands on some tickets, but as someone who uses one of the stations on the Wimbledon branch of the District line, it is blissful two weeks as they run extra trains and the crowds are traveling in the opposite direction.

(As penance, I often have to share the tube with sweaty Chelsea fans, but that is a different story).

My advice. Take the Piccadilly line from Kings Cross to Earls Court. Change there for the District Line and get off at Southfields. From there you can either get one of the shuttle buses to the AEC or if the weather is fine, you can walk.

There is a fantastic French food shop just by Southfields tube if you are peckish.
