LHR non-SkyTeam connection to DL

All,
I'm just wondering if anyone has guidance or information on connecting from a non-SkyTeam airline to DL at LHR. I'm flying into LHR on RJ (from AMM) and then connecting to DL to JFK.

The inbound flight will arrive at Terminal 3. The DL flight will depart from Terminal 4. I have 1hr40mins between flights.

My questions:
Can I simply follow the 'Flight Connections' signs and get to T4 without issue? Everytime I'm at LHR I've never seen anyone use the Flight Connections walkway so I always assumed it never worked...but maybe there just weren't any connections on my flights.

Do I have to pick up my checked baggage at LHR? I wonder if RJ can through-check my bags. This is all booked on one ticket on 006 ticket stock.

Do you think 1hr40mins is enough? It sounds like it should be but T4 is sort of the ....... terminal at LHR being out in the middle of nowhere.

I'm aware I'll have to re-clear security once I get to T4. I don't have a problem with that. I guess there's a chance I might have to check-in again as well with DL if RJ won't give me a BP for the DL flight in AMM.

Thanks in advance for your help.
