ATM cards in Taiwan
I haven't been back to Taiwan in about 14 years. Taiwan does not have any banks that are part of the Global ATM alliance. Can anyone make a recommendation of ATMs to use while in Taiwan. I have a Bank of America Visa Check card which I don't think is part of anyone and a Chase card that's part of the "PLUS" network. Ideally I'd like to avoid ATM fees, but I'd be happy as long as ATM machines give me a fair exchange rate. I once used an HSBC machine in Shanghai with my BofA card. Back then, the exchange rate was 1 USD to 7.5 RMB. HSBC gave me a 1:5.4 exchange rate - and I had no one to complain to.
I am trying to avoid this situation.
