True, but CUN has far more connecting opportunities out of SEA that is not too inconvenient like DFW, SLC, ATL, etc... If you want to fly to SJO you will have to connect in DFW, MIA, or ATL... None of those connections makes sense...
While I know it is not going to happen in the near future, but I do think they can make it work... I think it depends if they can fill the F cabin [paid] well then it will be a viable route for AS... Recently, AA was selling fares to SJO in C via MIA for $700 r/t, but in Y it is $450 r/t... It shows that the premium cabin on this route is not doing well.
