HI is great and all, I'm just saying it would be nice if AS would consider expanding down south somewhere besides Mexico.
The problem I see is that those destinations may have the same problems as CUN has, that got it eliminated by AS- high cost for the outstation compared to the ability to piggyback on current operations at HNL/KOA/OGG, mostly low RASM leisure flying that eats up a plane for an entire day doing a roundtrip because of stage length (in fact,
LAX-SJO is LONGER than SEA-CUN, and keep in mind that LAX is a weaker O/D market for AS than SEA, as witnessed by the fact that LAX-CUN got yanked before SEA-CUN did).
If AS can't make CUN work in their network, it's hard for me to see how they make BZE or SJO work.
