Criteria for travel watches
I agree with your criteria for travel watches. I'm a watch nut and have a number of nice watches but they usually stay at home when I'm traveling. For traveling, I want a watch that I don't mind losing. I've rarely left something in a hotel room but just don't need the additional stress of worrying about an expensive watch. The Casio G-Shock series are what I usually take. Sometimes a Suunto my wife got me (yes she knows I'm a gadget nut)....
My brother who travels a whole lot more than me adds a simple watch strap compass to orient his map when in an unfamiliar city.
