How do I exchange kilometers for upgrades?
In order to exchange LANPASS kilometers for upgrades, contact the LANPASS Call Center or visit any LAN office.
Note: Upgrade awards for LAN flights with routes flown through our associated airlines require and additional document that validates the upgrade. The award must be issued at least 72 hours prior to the departure of the flight at any LAN office.
This second paragaph seems to say that you can upgrade non-LAN operated flights as long as you are ticketed on the LAN flight number eg you could upgrade on the QF-operated SYD-EZE or AA-operated SCL-DFW using LANpass kms.
Anyone have any experience with this?
I haven't had personal experience with this but I just read this at the
Mundo LAN site on a page about codeshares and it seems that the upgrades are possible on UPG certificates, no news about upgrading with kms...:
UPG certificates:
UPG certificates can be used on flights operated by LAN, Aeromexico, Qantas and LanPerú.
