Thumbs up Excellent travel watches: Practical, dual time, tough

We've had a number of threads on dual time, GMT and travel watches. Most of these were focused on high(er) price pieces. High as in several hundred or thousands of US$. That's certainly not everyone's cup of tea whether they can afford it or not. And it might also not make sense to take a very nice watch to certain destinations or for casual vacation trips.

So, recently I have added a number of nice, affordable travel watches to my collection. Below you will find the links to my summary reviews. Please feel free to ask questions and suggest your own watches that you find ideal for travel, just please refrain from saying stuff like: I use my cell phone. Phones are an "hors sujet" when you talk about travel watches.

I define a travel watch as a watch that has at least two time zones that should ideally be visible at a glance and without pressing any extra buttons. It should also be reasonably durable and possibly have other functions like alarm or countdown timer that can be useful during travel.

The first watch in this series is possibly my favorite. It is a Japan Domestic Market only Seiko LCD watch. Very classy, very James Bond and super functional. It is multi-band atomic and solar powered. I call it my LCD Rolex:

The second favorite is the Casio Aviator GW-2500. It gets atomic signals even in China, is solar powered, very light, shows at least two times in all modes but can even show three time zones at one glance. A rare feature, especially in a watch that is both affordable and good looking:

Number three is an excellent Casio G-Shock with understated looks for this series. Not quite as classy as the Aviator above but MUCH cheaper at less than $60. It is possibly the watch with the most and the most useful functions of this review. It also shows three time zones at a single glance.
At this price it is such a good watch, it's as much a no-brainer as the Valoroso VT-18 at $50 was. Just buy one, you won't regret it:

Last but not least is the Casio GW-6900. It is a classic bulky G-Shock design with serious macho appeal. The power is in the very advanced and practical module with excellent, simple ergonomics. Also a 6-band atomic solar watch with the same serious toughness specs as all G-Shocks, except that this one really looks the part. At $85 a definite recommendation:

I hope this thread will help you get started in the search for a good travel watch. Any of these models is already in the top of the line for this kind of watch. As you know me, I looked at the market pretty thoroughly before getting the CC out.
