You can only gift points from your account if you have a current booking inplace.
so if your friend is going somewhere then make the booking for him out of your account or make the booking in his name and transfer the points across to his account.
You would then have to explain the T & Cs or join him and wait for the brochure to arrive and give it to him to read and he can ask questions if he doesnt understand anything.


Depends on if you are Diamond or not as sometimes he gets more looked after as a diamond account giftee.
otherwise you can buy Hyatt points but they are outrageously expensive and not a good value at all.
better to give him an amex card with an amount on it to spend at any hotel.
