With Alamo...the clock officially starts ticking when a Car is attached to your contract...and stops when you return the car.
You have a 29 min grace period for return to avoid any further charges.

Rental clock is 24 hours. Meaning if you pick up today at 3pm...day one ends at 3pm tomorrow.

As far as pickup time goes...we guarantee you a car for 24 hours. We do not guarantee your Rate for that amount of time though...unless you booked a Guaranteed Rate. That would require a Deposit at time of Reservation...and you would forfeit your deposit if you did not show up or cancelled the Res in less than 24 hours. That is usually done only on specialty vehicles.

What does that mean...? We will make sure you get a car. Your rate could change as when you book the Res, that price was generated by the computer to provide you the BEST RATE based on That DATE and TIME of Pick up and Drop off. Just like the Airlines and Hotels...there are minimum keep or other parameters that go along with that Rate. It might go up...it might go down. If there is a special event going on or a high demand on cars in the city you are renting could have a huge bearing on your rate structure. Mid week prices are traditionally higher than weekends. Weekend rates start at Noon on Thursdays.
One example I see all the time I have to explain is someone who books a Weekend rate...said they were going to arrive at NOON or after on a Thurs...but perhaps they caught at early flight. As the weekend rate has not officially started yet...the rate changes to mid-week pricing. Sometimes they didn't SET the arrival time..so it defaulted to Noon...it kicked in the weekend rate...again they arrived early...bingo...mid-week rate.
