You will struggle to find that many award seats on the same plane.

The way to start is to do some research about available dates using the LA/AA/BA (and maybe QF) websites.
Once you know that there are some seats on a specific day then call LA/BA/AA and grab so seats and ask them to hold for 24 hours. Then buy a ticket or remaining miles (or look whether there are any good promotions to get those miles for free) and then ticket all the 4 tickets. Then call the main carrier (AA?) and link the PNRs so the system knows you are traveling together.
