We can only relate our experiences and in our opinion it's actually the best large hotel in the orlando area.
The service we got couldn't be compared to stays in the likes of the disney hotels that form the majority, even the so called 5 star ones but then thats taken as read.
Many differ on this forum.
It's usually only at the very top end that theres almost unanimous agreement eg George V Paris or Hualalai.
I wouldn't compare Grande lakes with Hualalai.

I'd expect if you stay at Dove while Alan Federer is there, you should have a good experience and hopefully a very good one.
I hope so as well. I'm a golfer, and wasn't wild about the track at the Orlando property...the Dove Mountain one looks nice, but the green complexes look a little Mickey Mouse (pun intended) for my tastes. Was just in Orlando and stayed at the Grand Hyatt...HATE the new interior, but the staff there is still warm and friendly. If I was going without kids, I'd give the Waldorf Astoria a twirl...looks like a nice new hotel and supposed to be a phenomenal golf course!
