Mileage Earning on AA in "O" Class of Service

I have an upcoming trip MIA-FPO on AA (operated by AE) in O class of service. I'm trying to figure out whether I should expect mileage credit. AS' site has this to say regarding earning on AA:

Mileage Earned: 500 miles, or actual flight miles, whichever is greater*; 25% bonus for purchased Business Class; 50% bonus for purchased First Class. Mileage is not earned for flights in "E" class of service, and flights to South America in "O" class of service.

To ensure flight credit, the two letter airline code must precede the flight number on your ticket receipt or boarding pass.
For example, AA XXXX, operated by American Eagle.
Flights must also be within the eligible flight number range.

American Airlines
Eligible Flight Numbers

0001 - 5599
6750 - 7258
7454 - 7607
8050 - 8099

* 500 mile minimum applies where actual flight miles plus class of service bonus is less than 500 miles; Mileage is not earned for international tickets flown in O class of service.

MVP or MVP Gold qualifying flight miles: Yes

Destinations: More than 250 cities in more than 40 countries throughout North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Pacific
When I originally booked the ticket I saw the first exclusion regarding O class to South America. Since Freeport is in the Caribbean and decidedly NOT South America, I thought I would be fine. However, I later noticed the bit about all international flights and I now believe I might be out of luck.

Any other experiences here?
