I can turn right back around and say that I've had few bad experiences with TWA employees while almost all of my AA flights (before the merger) were terrible.
Let's look at my last three trips with AA before the merger....
1.) LHR-ORD-OMA. The ORD-OMA flight cancelled and the reason is "none of your concern" according to the Eagle idiot at the gate, who then said his shift was over and we should all go out to the ticket counter for rerouting (via DFW).
2.) PVR-DFW-DSM. Flight cancelled due to weather. Alright, no big deal. Agents at PVR are all rude and offer very little help. We are some of the lucky 30 or so to fill the open seats on a Mexicana F-100 for Mexico City where AA has more than one flight a day. More rude staff. Only way to get to DSM is to fly to ORD and end up purchasing a one-way day of departure ORD-DSM full fare ticket ($300). Took months to get a refund on that one.
3.) JAX-DFW-OMA. JAX to DFW flight delayed.. and delayed.. and delayed. AA agents say "DFW is experiencing horrible weather so few flights are going in and out." Funny that the CNN Airport TV in the gate area was showing Dallas as being 80 degrees and sunny. Also funny that we watch not one but two Delta flights depart for DFW on time (and the flat screen monitor in their gate shows sunny skies in Dallas). Plane is five hours late, causing us to miss the last flight of the night into Omaha (JAX people refused to rebook anybody). Had a horrible time getting the agents at DFW to provide hotel accommodations. Turns out the aircraft had a mechanical and the JAX could have rebooked us if they wanted to. I'm sure there is more to the story, but it was just unacceptable.
Maybe I'm lucky, but I've never had a problem with TWA. Granted, I've only had three overseas trips with TWA (one back in the days of Royal Ambassador Class on a L-1011, two more recent in the premium cabin of a B767). STL is a mess, but so is DFW and ORD.
