I frequently fly HOU-AUS. 148 miles and 21 to 23 minutes depending on the circumstances. Driving is usually around 3 hours. In my case, flying takes longer once you add in pre/post flight stuff on both ends.

I still prefer flying though as I absolutely abhor driving and will take every step possible to avoid it (the fact that Austin traffic on weekdays during the school year is horrendous certainly doesn't help). On the other hand, it's fun to be a pax in someone else's car in a roadtrip situation.
