Hey,
Just discovered a cool feature of the Flying blue program.
When you are downgraded (by 1 level) due to insufficient activity (this happens on April 1st each year) if you buy a (or several) ticket(s) before you are downgraded for a departure AFTER your downgrade, then the boarding card will show your PREVIOUS level : you will get all the benefits (lounge acces, etc) AND the bonus associated with that no longer true status.
For example, I was downgraded from GOLD to SILVER on last April 1st.
I just made two return flights , for the 4 segments, I could use the lounges and got a 50% bonus instead of 25 for a regular SILVER member.
Do you jnow if this is a regular way of doing things, for example on AA ?
Thanks for any answer.
Franck
