I had a gate agent allow me to fly standby (actually gave me a boarding pass on earlier flight as it was only about 70% full). He told me if my flight is 30 min delayed, they would allow me to go on an earlier flight.

My orig flight was sched. 35 min late -- but ended up being about 65 min late --- but I was already gone.
