i agree....

when i travel for work then there is usually a junior lawyer from my office who accompanies me....i always book both rooms in my name & he ends up getting the elite benefits as well....

once i had 2 colleagues travelling with me & i had booked all 3 rooms in my name (only got points for 2 rooms as per the t&c)....i never asked at the front desk but the hotel gave all 3 of us the elite benefits of an upgraded room & lounge access....
