On the other hand ... I am a rather picky eater (who likes both brussel sprouts and durian). My mom said, "I just didn't think it worth it to argue with you kids back then."

The three items that never, ever appeared on our dinner table:

1) Lima beans ... my mom hates them, as do I.

2) Spam ... my dad hated it as a kid during WWII; I've had it once, and not thrilled about it.

3) Liver ... both of my parents loathe it; I think it's okay.
