Hi All,

I'm in the early stages of planning my fifth trip to Australia, the first time with my wife. Since this will be her first trip, we are doing a basic MEL-AYQ-SYD itinerary, spending 4 days in each of MEL and SYD and 2 nights in AYQ.

We definately want to spend one day in wine country. Do you have any thoughts about whether this is better to do in MEL or SYD?

Criteria would be driving distance from the city center, quality of the wineries, scenery, lunch restaurant options and price of a car service for the day.

Any guidance would be appreciated.
