I was under the same exact situation several months ago. I was buying a new car and I wanted to put the whole thing on my PR Gold. I called and asked if a $30K transaction would be approved. The CSR put a "test" charge through my account and it went through. He then made notes to my account anticipating the charge. No financial reviews afterward.
