Who said anything about 'year end'? The date on the card -- especially since it's only a month and year (implying the last day of the month) -- is merely a convenience to allow time for any activities occurring late in your membership year to be credited. The activities log notes the actual membership expiry date (about which the OP was asking), before which credits must have been earned if they are to be applied to your renewal.
