I've never run into this. I suppose it happens in some lounges, probably more likely in Asia I'm guessing as don't transit there too often.
LX and LH is not one like this however. As long as you have a same day LX or LH F ticket you have access to the FCT/FCL - so a person can access the F lounges or terminal at FRA even if the F segment is ZRH-JFK or ORD-ZRH. Similarly, if a person has a same day *A F ticket they have access to the SEN lounges, not just the business lounges.
