I find it to be unprofessional for an airline to overbook in the front cabins, save maybe a seat or 2. If the airlines start regularly bumping someone paying $10K US for a ticket, these people are going to get very, very peeved. I saw it on TWA at LAX many moons ago, he was French going to Paris, and he was ready to throw a fit. He cursed us "Americains" and he refused to fly in coach. I thought he was going to kill the gate agent, who needed security up there fast. (It was scary). To some extent, I don't blame him. You pay for Business/First, you expect it, no problems.
Assuming it is the US airlines that are doing this!?, people will dump US First and Bus class so fast the airlines won't know what hit them.
Again, my personal belief here, sorry, US airlines' front cabins are not worth the money, ever. Since AA has started leaving the curtains open and plastic silverware, get real!
