I was hoping sans cup holder United would go this route. (power is in the armrest in this example)

Jeez some people will never be happy. Only a very few premium carriers offer those amenities.

And frankly, I don't even think most of those amenities are really all that big a deal that you list. I don't like foot rests as it impinges on my foot space and occasionally hits my shin, USB jacks are basically superfluous for me (what do you only have a USB power cable for and not a regular power cable?)), and there's a limit to how large a screen can get before it loses its usefulness when your face is only 20ish inches from the screen.

United dramatically improved the Y experience on the 777 and got all the important parts right (seating arrangement aside). The new 777 economy class offering, amenity-wise, is now the best or tied for the best among domestic carriers in the US and highly competitive with worldwide Y offerings and that's without even bringing E+ into the picture.

E+ & AVOD & Power drops means that I'm going to be a pretty happy camper when I'm stuck in the back in Y.
