I ended up with the previous line, the Silhouette 10, as a replacement from Samsonite for another set of bags which had some major flaws.
While not the 11, they are similar in some ways, so I will share my thoughts. Note that I rarely take a rollaboard, and have recently purchased a 20 inch Sub 2.0 thanks to the 'lightest carry on' sticky. I would not have purchased a 22 inch bag for myself.
- the 22 inch has a largish look to it, and it didn't fit wheels in or out into the bin of a A340, 763, or 747. If it does get used, it is usually checked. It attracts closer looks due to the largish look to the bag, as an above poster noted
- the spinner worked well, until wheels got 'stuck'. I put far less mileage on these bags than others in past
- three zippers failed at the same time on the same bag
The look of the 10 did appeal to me, but unfortuantely they didn't last as long as I had hoped. Since I didn't choose them myself, and since they were a replacement, they were adequate. But I wouldn't have purchased these for myself, and now that I am again in the market I did consider and rejected the Silhouette 11 series.
I really did want to like these bags; the initial impression was good, and they are quite nice pieces, but in the end they just couldn't live up to my travel patterns.
