They do, however, pretend to have a hub in JFK, so their international route network from there is rather disappointing (Europe especially so), particularly compared to their key global competitors in the market CO and DL.
"Pretend" all they want, AA is really not that far behind DL in total trans-Atlantic passengers at JFK. In fact, it wasn't even until last year that Delta edged ahead of AA.
