My problem with JFK connections is that they all leave early in the afternoon--and I can't connect with them unless I leave BTR or JAN at 6am to fly via DFW. By the time I allow an hour before departure for check-in plus 90-120 minute drive to the airport, I have to leave home at 3am. DFW-JFK connections are not exactly hourly! So, as far as I am concerned, it doesn't matter if JFK adds European flights--unless they have later JFK-Europe departures.
