If there is no one on-site dealing with the problem, I would contact the Diamond Desk and see if there is another property nearby and move immediately. I see this as a safety hazzard and would not tollerate it more than a few hours.
A full refund of points or $'s paid is the minimum I would expect. Letting the property fall into such a state of disrepair is unacceptable and needs to be brought to the attention upper management and Hilton.
I was stuck in an elevator years ago and the property went out of their way to make sure not only I was taken care of, but also everyone in my party, even though they had the sense to get off the elevator right before it failed.
But ESCALATE the program, even being a Sunday, there are people on call to deal with such problems.
