Yes, I've had this experience too. Several times. Again, only with DL. Never with NW, CO, even the unspeakable BA whose CS used to be the most condescending, contradictory, hypocritical and maddening in the whole world. Before DL, that is.
It's disgraceful that the system allows and tolerates this. The only response is to surgically remove one's need to deal with the agents by not doing business with the problematic company, at least whenever possible.

You can't be serious! You will need heavy blood pressure meds to attempt to accomplish anything with the chat agents. You think the SMS line is bad - and it is - then wait until you see what these guys say. I now simply use their text as sport, to quote the following week to SMS in complaint. They're often wrong, always counterproductive and a total waste of time. They seem to paste information from scripts - the same ones they use for the form letters - that don't address the actual point you need to deal with, and that give you the impression you are trying to interact with someone who has severe autism. Except they don't have that extenuation.
