I'm looking at using my 2-4-1 next April and just want to confirm I have something correct. If I see award availability outbound and inbound for the week I want to fly out, I can book my preferred outbound with inbound the following day. Then when/if flights open up the following week I can change my inbound flight via MMB for free?

If worse case scenario, no suitable inbound flights become available, I can just cancel the booking with a full refund minus a small charge?

The guide mentions the charge is £30, is that still the case or does it vary depending on flight destination?

This will be my first award booking and would appreciate confirmation that I've got my thinking right.
