Is a connect time of 1 hour enough between flights at houston airport?

Thanks
It depends. I use to fly through IAH a lot and I missed several of my connecting flights with connecting times of 1 to 2 hours. The problems that I encountered flying CO through IAH were:
  1. The plane for my CO flight at the originating airport was flying in from Newark. The plane left Newark late thus arriving at the originating airport late causing it to leave late which resulted in arriving late in IAH late causing me to miss my connecting flight.
  2. The
weather…I have been on flights that sat on the tarmac for a hour or two at the originating airport thus arriving late at IAH causing me to miss my connecting flight.

If you are flying into IAH on a regional jet or your connecting flight is on a regional jet, you will have a long haul from Terminal B (assuming that you are flying on CO) to the C, D or E terminal or a long haul from the C, D or E terminal. You have to take a 'monorail' between Terminal B to the C,D or E terminals. Assuming that there were no delays and no gate-checked luggage, you should arrive at your connecting gate about a few minutes before they are ready to board the flights. If you gate-checked luggage like a stroller, the CO folks at IAH are slow in getting the gate-checked luggage back to the gate (that has been my experiences).

If you are flying into IAH on a jet (i.e. 737-900 on CO) and your connecting flight is on a jet, your inbound flight should arrive at the C, D or E terminal and your connecting flight should be at the C, D or E terminal. Again, if there are no delays, you should arrive at the gate of your connecting flight with time to spare.

I am assuming that you will be traveling with an infant, toddler or young child(ren); therefore, it is my recommendation to find flights with a minumum of a 2-hr layover.
