Thankfully, at Safeway you can scan your card yourself, or simply key in your own phone number on the atm/debit keypad. This eliminates worrying about whether the right account is credited. Sadly, Safeway up here (Pacific NW) only awards United miles.....I don't bother. Wish they'd go with AA instead and then I would definitely do all my shopping there.
