The problem discussed has very LITTLE to do with revenue management. It has a whole lot to do with peak/off-peak pricing rules. Everything that you have described has to do with pricing policies (e.g. weekend vs weekday rates, successive 24 hour periods, etc.). The only thing that may have to do with revenue management is if a lower rate is no longer available due to the booking levels.
