The card number cannot designate the color of a USA-issued charge card because the number may remain the same when you change between Green, Gold, Platinum. Not sure about Centurion.
Even without changing cards. I have a PR Gold, and it starts with "3717 1" and I've never had a Platinum card. So, "3717 1" does not designate Platinum.
