I think that pretty much answers the question of whether or not you'll be given your original rate even if you show up a few hours late. If you're willing to gamble, your best bet now is to bring a printout of your original reservation to the counter. The computer will almost certainly apply the best available rate (the now higher rate) at the time you pick up and your only hope is to present your original reservation and hope you can find a rep or manager willing to bend policy and manually change your rate.

At this point I'd start shopping around for a new reservation based on your true arrival/departure times, you might find that another company is running a special and you're able to get an even better rate that you had initially.
