Wow, sounds like you lack confidence in yourself. I wear jeans and tshirts and get treated professionally because of who I am, not what I wear. If someone looks down on you because you are young or wearing whatever, they are idiots and why would you care? Especially if it's just service people that you pay good money to do business with.
Get some confidence and start worrying about what others think, especially the idiots.
Sometimes you depend on the "idiots" for some exceptions to the rule. Be it a nice car, -room, an upgrade or simply yourself wanting to look presentable. The only place where I wear a t-shirt is when going to bed or underneath my skiing sweater !
