A certain number of seats are held back for gate control. Since you're only 4 days out this could be the case. BUT...I would invest the time in a phone call just in case it's a web thing. If you still can't get a seat, do show up early at the gate. (They are now boarding some flights at 40 minutes prior instead of 30, so give it an hour).
To answer your question, it depends on why you get bumped off. If it's because you're not at the gate 30 minutes prior you might have a hard time. If you check in the GA early and you still can't get a seat, then you will be a bit higher up on the food chain as to rebooking.
