I'm a bit curious how you booked the illegal connection. Was the international and domestic portion all on one PNR? Was this a booked on Delta.com or some other travel site?
I've noticed that many times the flight is put into the system without taking the time change into account, thus it starts out legal. Later the time change is popped in there, the arrival time changes, and it's now a misconnect.
