If AA doesn't want folks doing mileage runs (understandable enough, perhaps), why not add language like "Saturday night stay required, minimum stay of 3 days required" or "one night stay at destination required" (exclusive of date line and overnight flight "stays") or some such? Their current fare rules seem badly out of whack to the problem they're presumably trying to respond to.
