I would not call the FS "luxury" by any means. More corporate/business. That being said, the service is first class and staff had restaurant reccommendations (after some prodding) that their counterparts at the Oberoi and Trident could not provide (note: most concierges are probably instructed to reccommend a total of 5-10 restaurants that are high end and "safe" for foreigners to eat). The pool itself, I thought was small, but the area was nicely set.

Never tried to pool at the Oberoi (though I saw it and it was not appealing) nor have I tried it at the Taj Palace.

I think it's all about what you are looking for. The Oberoi was my favorite (in terms of decor and mix between luxury and business amenities), the Taj is where I would take my significant other for ambiance, history and location (near Colaba and Bade Miya!) and the FS for business/a mid town location.

The JW Marriott is also very nice and has a great beach location, but that's really it. Didn't really stand out too much for me (not a strike against it though).

Let's remember though that I have not stayed at a number of the nothern properties Taj, ITC, Hyatt etc. The Oberoi is set to reopen on the 24th of this month and fully renovated so it might be an interesting choice. Though I'll be staying at the FS this time around, I will most certainly be having lunch at the Oberoi sometime during my stay.
