1966, I only remember because it was the first time I ever flew. I was a senior in HS and my dad needed my help in a warehouse in Miami he and his partner had just opened. Flew Delta from MCO to MIA on a B727. Needless to say I was hooked. Flew a few more flights in the next few years around the SE but the real travel started after college with Eastern, National and Southern airways between 1971 and 1979, then after changing jobs went exclusively with Eastern then when they folded divided most of my flying between AA (who bought the Latin America Eastern routes) and US. It did not take me long to see the greener grass on the Delta side and after my 2 sons went to work for Delta at MCO switched all my travel to Delta about 15 years ago.
By the way in the days BD (Before De-regulation) all the fares were EXACTLY the same between any 2 city pairs and I mean to the penny. If I recall correctly there wer only a few fare codes, Y, F and whatever they used for stand-by.
Flew the Delta Super DC-8 (cigar tube) from MCO to ATL. Even remember having a full breakfast served on these flights (eggs, bacon and potatoes with china no less), I can;t even imagine what was served in F/C in those days.
