Yes -- being shown on Arte TV as I write. From the photos you can tell it was modern. The first act was comic, with plenty of physical pratfalls, jokey musical interpolations. The second act turned quite dark, almost apocalyptic. As my German is virtually nil I didn't understand everything but was nonetheless quite moved, despite some bits that went on too long.

I didn't expect much from the performance going it, though I like von Otter, but was very pleasantly surprised. The run was sold out, with a long turn-back line at the box office.
