I have a theory that it may have to with who's PNR is on the boarding pass.
The last time I had a DL printed BP for an AS operated ATL-SEA flight, it showed up as a DL codeshare on my statement and went towards partner miles. The subsequent time I went to the AS counter and had them print me an AS BP and it showed up as an AS flight.
Note: When I presented my DL BP at the AS gate, the scanner beeped and the GA had to enter something manually to override it. She then separated the stub from the BP and retained the larger portion of it.
I had an AS OLCI on my ANC-SEA (SEA-HNL was courtesy of NW... never again

) There was a $150+ difference between AS & NW at that point
It posted as NW EQM's

as I was counting on it to help me to MVPG... oh well...
